1st Interdisciplinary Congress on Intestinal Health
Nurturing New Perspectives and Innovations
UNIVALI · Itajaí, SC
About the Congress
The 1st Interdisciplinary Congress on Intestinal Health: Nurturing New Perspectives and Innovations will be held at UNIVALI, in Itajaí-SC, in August 2026.
The event is organized and supported by the coordination of UNIVALI's Nutrition program, which celebrates 30 years since its establishment. It will also highlight the trajectory of UNIVALI's Multidisciplinary Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Outpatient Clinic, implemented in 2011, which provides weekly care and follow-up for patients from the Association of Municipalities of the Itajaí River Mouth Region (AMFRI), within the Family and Community Health Unit (USFC), located at UNIVALI, Itajaí campus, building F7.
With a multiprofessional approach (Nutrition, Medicine, Psychology, among others), the congress will bring together national and international experts to discuss microbiota, the gut-brain axis, and therapeutic innovations.
The event aims to promote scientific and technical advancement and knowledge exchange among healthcare professionals and academics on intestinal health, addressing innovative perspectives, interdisciplinary practices, and advances in clinical research, while celebrating UNIVALI's academic and clinical trajectory in the field.
The program includes workshops, roundtable discussions, keynote lectures, and scientific paper presentations, aimed at updating professionals and academics, as well as strengthening scientific research in the state of Santa Catarina.
